Susan Avery For much of her high school career, Susan Avery was one of North Los Angeles High’s foremost heartthrobs: a stylish cheerleader, a party animal, every jock’s dream girl (and every nerd’s wildest fantasy), and clearly on track to be one of the biggest contenders for prom queen. Then, towards the beginning of her junior year, Susan had an awakening of sorts. The people closest to her, the people she had called “friends,” were shallow, backstabbing scumbags. She realized that she had never so much as expressed an opinion of her own while in the presence of her so-called chums. She couldn’t dare admit that she didn’t want to cheat on an upcoming test, she didn’t have the guts to ask her fellow in-crowders to take it easy on the socially awkward kids, and she couldn’t even go to the bathroom without an entourage. When Susan opened her mouth for the very first time unbidden to bring all these facts to light, she was, suffice to say, no longer welcome amongst the ranks of the in crowd. This was fine with Susan. She had become a new person — an independent, free-thinking young woman who could tackle life on her own and perhaps figure out how to make a few REAL friends in the process. She got her hair cut super-short, put together a few punk outfits, and went off to school with her head held high. Unfortunately for Susan, the first person to notice just who was lurking beneath this new exterior was one of the “awkward” kids she had barely noticed before. But HE had noticed HER — and had been collecting photos of her for his “private use” ever since the first time she caught his lecherous eye. Now that Susan had fallen from the protection of her entourage, she’d be far easier to photograph, film, and actually APPROACH for the first time. Susan, proud to be on her own, will have her newfound strength and independence put to the test now that she’s become fair game for Cord Samson. |
